Career Ready is a national charity that prepares young people for the world of work.
The programme provides an essential link between York Sixth Form students looking to stay local and local employers looking for talent. The programme is facilitated in partnership with City of York Council.
Employers can get involved by acting as mentors, delivering masterclasses, offering workplace visits, work experience and internships.
It’s a rewarding opportunity to develop the employability skills of York students whilst raising awareness of your organisation and sector.
We are currently in need of one week summer work experience placements for our students in a wide range of sectors. If you would like to get involved please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more. We work with large organisations and SME’s, all welcome!
By supporting the Career Ready programme your business could make a big difference to the lives of young people and support the growth of local businesses through talent match.
“Supporting, developing and retaining York’s talented young people is a central priority of the city’s skills plan and the Career ready programme makes a really significant contribution to this. This programme has brought together schools and employers in a really effective partnership and the City of YORK Council’s Skills team view the partnership with Career Ready as an essential part of the city’s skills plan.” Maxine Squires, Assistant Director for Education and Skills,City of York Council.
